Gluten Free Snack Company will be Baking in Stratford, CT
300 Benton Street, the new premises for El’s Kitchen
July 10, 2012 – STRATFORD- Gluten Free snack food manufacturer, El’s Kitchen, will be expanding from their Weston, CT location into 3,000 SF of flex space at 300 Benton Street, Stratford, CT.
Presently, part of the production process is outsourced due to the Weston space limitations. 300 Benton Street will give El’s Kitchen the room to have all the manufacturing and distribution under one roof. The 3,000 SF of leased space is currently under going extensive construction to cater to the company’s specific kitchen requirements. El’s Kitchen is planning to be fully operational during the Fall 2012.
Jon Angel, President of commercial real estate company, Angel Commercial L.L.C. assisted El, Eleanor Smith, in her search for a suitable site. “El wanted to be in Stratford, with easy access to I-95. The 3,000 SF of this 11,184 SF building gives El the room now with the potential for growth in the future”, comments Angel, who represented both the landlord and the tenant in the lease transaction.
El’s Kitchen makes natural, gluten-free, nut free, whole grain snacks. Eleanor and Jim Smith, the owners of El’s Kitchen, began their business in 1998 producing dry rubs as a result of their passion for barbecuing. The spice combinations were the inspiration to the flavorful snacks they now create.
Eleanor comments, “We’re very happy with our space in Stratford as it perfectly serves our current needs but will also allow us to easily expand operations when the time comes. Jon and his staff worked tirelessly to find just the right location for our new facility. We had been looking elsewhere in Fairfield County for a bakery where we could manufacture our gluten free Medleys snack mixes, but had no luck until we joined forces with Angel Commercial”.
